Here's a link to a thread on our finnish forum about me polishing half of my project cars bonnet...
Here's the fast description:
- Car: Alfa Romeo 33 from 1991
- Paintwork: Very bad condition, but not much rust
Equipment used:
Mothers and PRO polishing pads
PRO and BRS microfiber cloths
(no machines, work done in my home parkingslot)
Summary of what did I do:
- Washed the bonnet with Mothers Car Wash
- Divided it to two parts with black 3M vinyl tape
- Worked only on the left side (in the images)
- Used Mothers Claybar to remove all the roughness on the surface
- Applied Mothers Pre-Wax Cleaner 2 times. First time really used force and did about 30x30cm area at a time. The second apply was done to the whole leftside area, taking special care of the missed areas of the first time.
- Applied Mothers Sealer & Glaze the same way I did with the Pre-Wax cleaner
- and finally protected the surface with Mothers Pure Carnauba Wax paste.
This project was done, to show our customers that you can infact revive a pretty dead surface without machines or special knowledge... just hard work!
The surface is not "machine polished shiny", and I'm not saying that you could ever get it that shiny by hand, but machine polishing is something not all can afford to do.
I'll try to post an english tranlation of it here, but in the meanwhile, enjoy the pics |

Been so busy with our webshop that I have hardly got time to do anything worth to post here |
